pleasefireme:

Please fire me. I may not get a well-deserved raise because I didn’t say good morning to my co-workers.

We just had a discussion about this @ work today.  At my last job, one person’s inability to say good morning sent another one of my co-workers straight to HR and earned us ALL 8 months of “Team Building” meetings.  BTW “Team Building” consists of whining about how your co-workers are TRASH because log off of the computer instead of shut it down at the end of their shift and other articles of intellectually challenged, nit picky bullshit.

…at least there was free pizza. But at 1 hr/wk x 32 weeks… that’s a vacation week’s worth of work down the shitter.  All because someone likes to let their coffee kick in before they speak to people.

That’s why I adore certain individuals, but am not to fond of people as a whole…

It’s the birthday of jazz giant Dizzy Gillespie.  What better occasion to put on some bebop and look at a very cool picture of Dizzy blowing his horn at the White House.  June 8, 1979, Jazz Concert on the South Lawn with President Jimmy Carter.

RIP: Steve Jobs, co-founder and former-CEO of Apple Inc., passed away today at the age of 56.
Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004. His failing health forced him to resign his role as Apple’s CEO earlier this year, as he felt he could “no longer meet my duties and expectations.”
“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being,” Apple said in a statement. “Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have build and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
Apple is asking fans to send their thoughts, memories, and condolences to rememberingsteve@apple.com.
October 14th was recently designated Steve Jobs Day by Apple fans.
